STAY
At Kii Adventures, we offer a range of accommodations, including our own and those operated by local partners, to enrich your stay along the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route. One option is our directly managed cottages, where you can relax in a rich natural environment. The other is YUPI, a guesthouse run by a local business located near Kumano Hongu Taisha Shrine, where you can enjoy interacting with the host and experience life in Kumano firsthand.


Cottage KIRIHATA
Located in the Kirihata settlement, across the river from the Okukumano Kodo Hongu roadside station, this cottage is just an 8-minute drive from Kumano Hongu Taisha. Enjoy the tranquil Japanese countryside environment. Ideal for solo travelers, couples, and young families. From ¥18,000 per night for two people (maximum 4 people).

A guestroom located next to Kumano Hongu Taisha Shrine, with the owner living on-site. Trekking Tour
We arrange for trekking guides and local guides according to your needs, including the popular Nakahechi route of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, as well as the Kohechi or Iseji route, a 2-night, 3-day trek from Koyasan to Hongu Taisha Shrine or we also design and support the custom-made itinerary that include accommodation, meals, and activities.

he Nakahechi route from Hongu Taisha to Nachi Taisha spans approximately 35 kilometers and is typically a two-day, one-night hike. However, the reality is that many hikers give up on the trek because there are very few places to stay in the Koguchi settlement, where one would normally spend the night. We offer accommodation packages for guests staying multiple nights at Cottage Kirihata or Guestroom YUPI that include shuttle service to Koguchi and a packed lunch.

Q. Do you offer a shuttle service?
A. Cottage Kirihata is located in a small settlement, 8-minute
drive from Hongu Taisha Shrine. We offer a free shuttle service
for guests, including hikers on the ancient trail. We provide
pick-up and drop-off services to the Hongu Taisha bus stop,
Michi-no-Eki Okukumano Hongu, Hosshinmon-oji, Ukegawa,
and other locations along the ancient trail. Please inquire in
advance.
Q. Does the cottage have air conditioning?
A. The bedroom and living room are equipped with air
conditioning.
Q. Are amenities such as bath towels, hair dryers, shampoo &
conditioner provided?
A. We provide bath towels for each person. We also have a hair
dryer. Amenities include shampoo, conditioner, and body
soap. We also have a washing machine and laundry
detergent, so you can do your laundry freely.
Q. Are there any supermarkets or shops nearby?
A. There are no large supermarkets nearby. There's a roadside
station with a mini-supermarket just a 3-minute drive away.
You can buy fresh produce, bento boxes, prepared foods,
alcoholic beverages, etc. For those who require transportation,
we can stop by the roadside station before check-in.
Q. Is payment required in advance?
A. Please pay the accommodation fee in advance after making
your reservation. We will send you a payment code via email;
please use it to make the payment by a credit card, electronic
money, or other accepted methods.
Q. Is long-term stay possible?
A. During the off-season (summer: June-August, winter: December-
February), long-term stays of up to 4 weeks are possible.
We offer a 30%-50% discount for long-term stays; please
inquire separately.
